Jeff Goldblum teases the possibility of joining a superhero movie!

When it comes to sci-fi movies, Jeff Goldblum is an exceptionally big name. The actor is best known for portraying Dr. Ian Malcolm in the Jurassic Park film series and David Levinson in the Independence Day movies. But in his more than four decade-long career, he has never been in a superhero movie. But it looks like we might eventually get to see him acting in this genre.

During a recent interview with MTV, when the interviewer asked why he’s never appeared in a superhero movie, Goldblum responded, “I can say very little right now, but you might be onto something.”

That statement seems to indicate strongly that he's in talks with an unnamed studio about a superhero movie role. But is it a DC or a Marvel role? Well, he's not going to reveal that! When the interviewer asked if he's a DC guy or a Marvel guy, here's what he said, “Yeah, maybe, I'm in every camp. I'm open to all.”

It's hard to guess, to be honest. Currently, there are possibly dozens of superhero movie roles that he might consider. He could be the one in discussions with Marvel Studios about playing the role of the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming that Michael Keaton was initially in talks for.

However, there are ten other movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline scheduled for release, right up to 2020. So, it's hard to predict which role he might play, even had anyone confirmed that he was in talks with Marvel.

Now, if Jeff Goldblum is in reality negotiating a superhero role with Warner Bros., not only are there numerous movies, the character possibilities are endless! We recently came across a casting rumor regarding The Flash’s movie. If they are considering him for a role on that list, we could speculate that it could be that of Fred Chyre or Eobard Thawne.

Justice League has already kicked off its filming, and they've recently added two big names - J.K. Simmons and Willem Dafoe. Plus, there are five more DC Extended Universe movies scheduled for release between now and 2020.

And there's 20 Century Fox, who are making X-Men movies. Their slate is even more unclear. So, there's actually no way we can accurately predict the exact superhero movie role Jeff Goldblum is up for, unless it's a fluke. Check out the interview clip below!

So, what superhero movie role would you want to see Jeff Goldblum portray? Do let us know via your comments!
