Critics hated Marvel's Iron Fist, but that didn't keep Netflix from giving it another shot. Production for the series’ sophomore season is expected to kick off soon, with a new showrunner on board. When we start seeing pictures from the set, don't be surprised if you catch sight of Alice Eve.
Marvel recently announced that the Star Trek Into Darkness star will join returning Iron Fist cast members Finn Jones (Danny Rand), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum), Jessica Stroup (Joy Meachum), and Sacha Dhawan (Davos). Simone Missick, who portrayed Misty Knight in Luke Cage and The Defenders, is also on the cast roster.
The studio hasn’t provided any details on Eve's role in the Marvel/Netflix venture. Based on some comments from Marvel Television head honcho Jeph Loeb, we’re assuming that her character will be a badass, if not a bona fide villain:
We are very excited to have an actress of Alice's stature join the cast of Marvel's Iron Fist. Her exceptional talent brings an intrigue and danger to her character unlike anyone else.
Raven Metzner, who’s replacing Scott Buck as showrunner, had the following to say about the addition of the British actress to the series’ cast:
We're over the moon that Alice Eve is joining us this season. We think she's going to be a great addition to an already stellar cast.

That Hashtag Show recently shared an Iron Fist Season 2 casting call that includes the following new character description:
[TANYA PARKER] (late twenties, open ethnicity) As a freelance covert operative, Tanya has carried out many high-level missions. A chameleon adept at playing roles, Tanya inhabits the "part" that best fits the mission. SERIES REGULAR
THS speculated that Tanya Parker might be a codename for Lady Gorgon or Black Mamba. We’ll be waiting to learn whether Eve will play either of them, or another character altogether.
In addition to 2013’s Star Trek installment, the 35-year-old actress appeared in the movies She's Out of My League, Sex and the City 2, Men in Black 3, and Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. She also starred in small-screen ventures Entourage and Black Mirror.
