The Netflix corner of the MCU is just a couple of years away from the big Defenders reunion, in which Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist (with Punisher most likely waiting to be added) will participate in their own kind of infinity war (no, not the big one, maybe a small variant of it, just for the fans to see how a cosmic event feels on the street level).
And, according to Screen Geek, the big baddie the Defenders will face will be none other than Mephisto. Obviously, this should be taken with a couple of pounds of salt, since Mephisto is basically the Devil of the Marvel comic book universe. However, if he is to be the threat faced by the Defenders, this does open up numerous possibilities for other superheroes to arrive - superheroes such as Moon Knight and Ghost Rider, who have already been rumored to have received their own Netflix TV shows.
According to the website, this is the whole reason why Iron Fist will happen: to introduce the supernatural element into the Netflix MCU.
Obviously, this isn't the only rumor concerning the big baddie of the Defenders. According to another (via CBM), the Netflix shows are heading toward a Shadowland adaptation, in which Daredevil will finally cross the line and become a baddie. This rumor is based on the big role Kingpin is apparently playing in the Netflix shows.
So you should take this one with a grain of salt as well. And, while we'd love to see superheroes such as Moon Knight and Ghost Rider coming to the aid of the Defenders against Mephisto, a Shadowland adaptation is more likely to happen. After all, we have already seen Daredevil kill someone (to his knowledge, he did kill Nobu, even if Stick was actually the one to deliver the finishing blow).
