While the writers of the first Deadpool movie believe that there will be a bigger budget for the sequel – with certain restrictions – this does not mean that they cannot introduce more awesome comic book characters. Obviously, the first of these is Cable, as revealed in the post-credits scene of the first movie. The sequel will also need a villain, as well as some henchmen for him.
But who will be the Negasonic Teenage Warhead of Deadpool 2? Who will be that other mutant, besides Cable, to join the Merc with a Mouth and aid him in his gory quests?
According to CBM, citing Heroic Hollywood, that other, helpful mutant will be Neena Thurman, better known as Domino. This character has a pretty interesting history with Cable, meaning that she was his partner, confidante, and lover. So it makes sense to have her in a movie featuring the time-traveling mutant.
And it seems pretty cost effective to have her in a Deadpool sequel. Since her powers involve telekinesis, they can be explicitly shown just one time, in a way, mirroring the appearance of Negasonic Teenage Warhead this year. As we’ve said, this would not have such a big impact on the budget of the movie.
And if she were to indeed appear in the sequel, it would open up the possibility for her to be a part of the X Force team, together with Cable and Deadpool. After all, she is best known for her affiliation with this particular squad.
For the moment, though, this should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, it is just a rumor that has not been confirmed or denied by Fox. As we know, the writers haven't even started writing the script!
