Bryan Singer To Retain Red Sonja Directorial Gig Despite Sexual Misconduct Accusations!

Despite sexual misconduct accusations, Bryan Singer is still attached to direct the upcoming Red Sonja reboot!

Even after being accused of some serious sexual misconduct, Bryan Singer is getting to keep his directorial role for the upcoming Red Sonja reboot.

Last September, we came across the announcement that Bryan Singer Рwho directed four different X-Men movies for 20th Century Fox Рwould be calling the shots on Millennium Films' Red Sonja. But after a recent expos̩ published by The Atlantic found four men accusing him of having sex with them when they were younger than the age of consent, many of us thought that he would have to bid farewell to the gig.

Of course, the director has denied all accusations and has even gone on to call the report a homophobic smear piece. But such denials couldn't save the careers of Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey who were also accused of sexual misconducts in the recent past.

However, much to our surprise, Millennium still has no intentions of firing Singer from the job. They believe that there's no truth behind the accusations and are determined to stand behind the director. That's what producer Avi Lerner has asserted in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. It reads:

I continue to be in development for Red Sonja and Bryan Singer continues to be attached. The over $800 million Bohemian Rhapsody has grossed, making it the highest grossing drama in film history, is testament to his remarkable vision and acumen. I know the difference between agenda driven fake news and reality, and I am very comfortable with this decision. In America people are innocent until proven otherwise.

That's not all. In the report, THR reveals that Singer could be getting a paycheck of no less than $10 million from Millennium if Red Sonja manages to reach certain box office milestones. The female superhero movie still doesn't have a release date but is expected to kick off its production in Bulgaria this spring.
