Wonder Woman: Second Weekend Outperforms All Other DCEU Movies!

Wonder Woman has the best DCEU second weekend at domestic box office!

For the last couple of days, analysts have been saying that Wonder Woman would stay at Number One in North America for its second weekend, easily beating this week's release, The Mummy. The movie’s second weekend earned more money for Warner Bros. than any of the previous DC Extended Universe movies, which include Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, with a scant 45 percent drop from its $103.2 million opening weekend, the Patty Jenkins flick raked in $57.2 million from 4,165 theaters during its second weekend. It reached the $200 million domestic box office milestone on Sunday, its tenth day in theaters. The Mummy holds the second spot, opening in 4,035 theaters to a withering $32.2 million. However, the movie is faring impressively overseas, with $141.8 million in 63 territories, which marks Tom Cruise's best international debut to date.

Among DCEU movies, Zack Snyder's Superman movie bagged $41.3 million in its second weekend; his showdown between the Gotham Guardian and the Last Son of Krypton earned $51.3 million; and David Ayer's Worst Heroes Ever brought in $43.5 million. Interestingly, each of these DCEU movies had a bigger debut than Wonder Woman - $116.6 million for Man of Steel, $166 million for Batman v Superman, and $133.7 million for Suicide Squad. However, all of them witnessed a significant fall, ranging from 64 to 69 percent, in their second weekends.

According to Deadline, Diana Prince's solo outing surpassed Captain America: The First Avenger’s international total ($194 million) in just 13 days. It bagged $230.2 million outside of North America, meaning that its worldwide earnings currently stand at over $435 million.
