So, Fantastic Four (or Fant4stic, as it’s being stylised) has now been out for a couple of days and it’s safe to say that the reviews are terrible.
Having seen it for ourselves, we kind of agree (it’s more boring than it is outright terrible) – but, given that the movie’s director has distanced himself from it, we kind of already knew what to expect.
Josh Trank quickly deleted his tweet about the movie (which seemed to suggest that his vision for it had been tampered with), but nothing is gone for good once it’s been online these days and several users screenshotted it before it disappeared.
Now that enough time (its entire opening weekend, which bombed with a mere $26.2 million in box office takings) has passed for the general public to have seen the movie, a lot of other Twitter users have been having their say on it too – and it’s not good reading for the people behind the movie, to say the least.
Let’s take a look at Twitter’s reaction to the new Fantastic Four movie…
The Sympathetic & Constructive Tweets…
#FantasticFour was never going to get a fair shot. People just want Marvel to have the rights, so F-4 can chase Doom and his blue MacGuffin.

I saw Fantastic Four. I really believe there was a movie in there somewhere. Someone had a vision that was then squashed.
— Harley Morenstein (@HarleyPlays) August 7, 2015
Fantastic Four bombed at the movies? Hmm, with all of the production problems, script re writes and corporate meddling, is this a shock?
— Leslie McLemore (@Leslie_Stark23) August 10, 2015
Don't know why Fantastic Four got so much hate you could tell this is just a origin story just a step up for a franchise #FantasticFour
— Nonie (@ZZ_Da_BotMaster) August 10, 2015
What would MCU do if they had fantastic 4? Nothing the characters origins are weak. There isn't much you can do. #FantasticFour #marvel
— Javier Torres (@jtorr79) August 10, 2015
Seen Fantastic Four. It wasn't great but don't think it was the worst superhero film I've seen. It was just a bit blah.
— Horny GeekGirl (@HornyGeekGirl) August 10, 2015
I'm trying to write a balanced review of Fantastic Four. It's an interesting challenge. 🙂

#UnpopularOpinion #Fantasticfour is not THAT bad. Really. There is some good elements ?
— Ronan (@RonanBoivineau) August 10, 2015
My official opinion of #FantasticFour is that it could have been a hell of a lot better, it's not a bad film but it's no MCU film.
— Iain buchanan (@Spatchmo) August 10, 2015
Post accident sequence in Fantastic Four is good…shame about everything else. Should we feel bad for @joshuatrank? did he have control?
— CriticallyBlunt (@HidekiNara) August 10, 2015
Not everyone was so understanding, however…
The Straight-To-The-Point Tweets…

— Jonas Makiramdam (@jcmakiramdam) August 10, 2015
The more I think about it the more Fantastic Four sucks. Like there are multiple times in the movie where nothing is happening.

Fox really needs to give up the rights to Fantastic Four and just give Marvel complete control. That movie was awful #FantasticFour
— Bella Moon (@SunMoonClouds) August 10, 2015

So I've slept on it…. Still not keen on the #FantasticFour film. Rushed and poorly edited, waste of a Marvel film

It almost takes talent to make a film more universally disliked than Pixels. Congrats to Fantastic Four?
