Ah, Stan Lee…

The word “legend” is thrown around a lot these days (probably way too much), but to use it to describe the late, great, former creative lead of Marvel Comics is entirely accurate.

Lee was responsible (or at least partly responsible, in some cases) for creating a plethora of iconic and instantly recognisable characters and teams/groups/organisations, including – but by no means limited to – the likes of Spider-Man, Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Black Widow, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, Daredevil, Scarlet Witch, S.H.I.E.L.D., Galactus and Doctor Doom.

Lee acted as en executive producer on almost every live action Marvel production until his death in 2018 – and, quite famously, he was rightfully given cameos in pretty much all of them.

Not only did fans expect those cameos, they also looked forward to them as one of the highlights of the TV show or movie in question, as they always raised a smile or prompted a chuckle.
