Young Justice: Outsiders Second Half Trailer Brings the Animated DC Goods

DC Universe has released a brand new trailer for Young Justice: Outsiders, which showcases what’s to come in the second half of the new season. The trailer, in itself, is incredibly brief, clocking in at just 30-seconds, but it doesn’t skimp on the goods, as it’s virtually nothing but superhero action. Here’s the official synopsis for the series.

“The teenage Super Heroes of the DC Universe come of age in an animated world of super-powers, Super-Villains and super secrets in YOUNG JUSTICE: OUTSIDERS, the highly anticipated new take on Warner Bros. Animation’s popular YOUNG JUSTICE series. The team faces its greatest challenge yet as it takes on meta-human trafficking and the terrifying threat it creates for a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy.”

Young Justice was a beloved show for the two seasons it lasted during its original run on Cartoon Network. Unfortunately, the ratings simply weren’t there to justify keeping it around. Luckily, when Warner Bros. decided to launch DC Universe, they felt it was the perfect time to bring the series back. The first 13 episodes of the revived series are available now for DC Universe subscribers.

Unfortunately, all of this DC goodness may be short-lived. Recently, the critically-heralded Swamp Thing series was canceled after just one episode made it to air. That has led to speculation that WarnerMedia, DC’s parent company, may be re-evaluating their strategy with the service, as they’re getting ready to launch a more broad streaming service by early 2020. That would be an especially big bummer for fans of this series, as the creators have already revealed they have ideas in place for another season.

The voice cast for the series includes Jesse McCartney, Nolan North, Stephanie Lemelin, Jason Spisak, Zehra Fazal, Troy Baker, Khary Payton, Alyson Stoner, Jason Marsden, Vanessa Marshall, Marina Sirtis, Mark Rolston, Kelly Hu and Bruce Greenwood. The series is produced by co-creators Vietti and Greg Weisman, with Sam Register on board as an executive producer.

Young Justice: Outsiders returns with new episodes on July 2. Be sure to check out the new trailer for yourself below.
