Good news for the fans of Danger Girl – the 1990s comic is getting a feature film adaptation and it has already found its director.
It was revealed over a year ago that a Danger Girl movie was in the works at Constantin Film, with Umair Aleem attached to pen the script. Now, multiple Hollywood trades, including Deadline, are reporting that the project has landed a director. It's Jeff Wadlow who has come on board to helm the action-adventure.
Wadlow called the shots on last year's supernatural horror Truth or Dare, which performed poorly among critics but made an astounding $95 million at the global box office against a production budget of merely $3.5 million. He is also recognized for directing movies like Kick-Ass 2, Never Back Down and Cry Wolf. He recently wrapped production on a big-screen reimagining of the ABC series Fantasy Island.

Production on Danger Girl, according to Deadline, is expected to kick off next year. Before getting the cameras rolling, Wadlow will be doing some rewrites on the script. So, it's unlikely that the movie would hit the theaters before late-2020 or even 2021.
The upcoming female-led comic book movie has Robert Kulzer of Constantin Film, Jeremy Bolt of JB Pictures and Adrian Askarieh of Prime Universe Films attached as its producers. Meanwhile, creators J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell are serving as executive producers along with Constantin’s Martin Moszkowicz. Here's how Deadline describes the project:
The long-enduring comic book brand follows the adventures of lead character Abbey Chase, who is reluctantly recruited into an all-female secret organization. The daring Chase finds herself teamed with a trio of elite operatives "” Sydney Savage, Natalia Kasstle, and "Silicon" Valerie "” and dispatched on a globe-trotting adventure to find and secure a series of objects with destructive power coveted by the evil neo-nazi collective called the Hammer Syndicate.
