While we have been told until now that the season finale for the Flash will bring a surprise nobody has thought of, the Cosmic Treadmill has been now confirmed by the Flash actor Grant Gustin. And, unlike other times, the actor clearly confirmed that the time-travelling device will be featured in the show.
Of course, as you may remember, the cosmic treadmill was already featured in the show, even from the second episode, when Barry was testing his speed on what seemed to be a modified treadmill. Check out the clip below and read on!

The Cosmic Treadmill
The Cosmic Treadmill is a device which helped the Flash achieve time-travel speeds - but this happened only when he was still finding out what his limits were. After he became a full-fledged superhero, he didn't need the Cosmic Treadmill any longer.
Could this also be the case with the series? It may be so, since a treadmill which has time-travelling capabilities seems like a pretty goofy idea for our times. Furthermore, if the device will be used more than, say, once the entire timeline could become too difficult to comprehend - and this happens each and every time when time-travelling occurs during shows or major movies.
Is it a good idea?
It appears that what seemed to be an Easter-Egg is actually propelling the story forward. But, as said, with a superhero such as powerful as the Flash, the Cosmic Treadmill isn't too necessary on the long run. It could work for an episode or two, but other than that"¦
Of course, if the treadmill will be used, it will be a perfect chance for a story of paradoxical proportions - yes, as said in here, we may see some Flashpoint Paradox-like episodes. Would this be an opportunity for Flash to use the Cosmic Treadmill? Will this be the point in which he realizes that time-traveling isn't a good thing?
