Gambit Movie Production Delayed AGAIN!

Gambit movie production gets delayed again!

Channing Tatum's Gambit movie was scheduled to release in October 2016, as the third installment of the year – after the Deadpool movie and X-Men: Apocalypse - from 20th Century Fox's Mutant Universe. Later, writer/producer Simon Kinberg confirmed that the flick won't hit the theaters before 2017, and that they are planning to kick off with its filming in spring 2016.

Did they start filming for the Gambit movie? No, they didn't. And it seems that they won't start production any time soon! According to The Hollywood Reporter, the mutant's standalone venture is undergoing rewrites at the moment. And for that particular reason, the Gambit movie won't be able to start production until the end of 2016. Channing Tatum's producing partner Reid Carolin is handling the rewrites.

Meanwhile, Doug Liman, the director who's set to helm the Gambit movie is considering another flick. The report suggests that the Edge of Tomorrow director is in negotiations with Amazon Studios to direct a psychological thriller penned by Dwain Worrell titled The Wall .

The good news for us is that Doug Liman doesn't intend to desert the movie, unlike Rupert Wyatt. The Rise of the Planet of the Apes director signed a deal to helm the movie for 20th Century Fox back in June of last year, but eventually pulled back after a few months.

According to the report, Amazon Studios' The Wall is “small-scale in nature“. So it won't be difficult for Liman to knock it out with a late spring/early summer shoot before eventually returning to pre-production on the Gambit movie.

Back in August of last year, Spectre star Lea Seydoux was announced to play Bella Donna opposite Channing Tatum's titular character, but her present involvement is pretty much unclear.

They better take as much time as they want rather than rush into the Gambit movie and deliver something like last year's Fantastic Four! What do you think? Share via comments!
