During a recent interview with Wired, Zack Snyder talked about the Justice League members and what they should feel like. When talking, the director focused mainly on Batman and Wonder Woman.
Thus, he approached the controversial ending of Man of Steel, with all of its consequences. He said that the death of Zod is not as big a deal as the destruction of Metropolis. And that is because the city and its inhabitants had to suffer after the epic fight between the Kryptonians. Is this his way of preparing us for the Justice League?
It apparently is, because this discussion was about Bruce Wayne's impotence, his inability to do anything to prevent the destruction of the city. And this instilled fear in him, as the director said, fear and paranoia, as we believe.
As far as Wonder Woman is concerned, her role seems to be pretty clear well before the Justice League arrives. Thus, Zack Snyder said that he has always wanted his movies to show that women can be empowered - and now it’s high time for Wonder Woman to be represented accurately.
We say that we already can see that, because the trailers revealed who the knight in shining armor is - the Amazonian princess, who comes to the rescue of overpowered and outgunned Batman and Superman. And, if we are to follow the reaction of the fans to those trailers, she represents exactly the most awesome part of the movie.
So, basically, by saying that he wants for the Justice League members to have a mythological grounding, Zack Snyder is actually saying that he wants the superheroes to feel as real as possible, mainly through their relationships with each other and with the world.
