James Gunn is moving on with Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and he has taken over the social media where, to our surprise he’s revealing more and more details. We’ve already learned that the movie will be a story about fathers, and Peter Quill aka Star-Lord's (Chris Pratt) will be part of the plot. There are many speculations according to which Kurt Russel will play the role of Star-Lord's dad, yet nothing confirmed.
However, James Gunn posted on Twitter that they’ve already chosen the cast for Star Lord’s dad and the main villain, as the old and the new cast seemed to have gathered in Atlanta.

Matthew McConaughey turned down the main villain’s role so we wonder who is going to portray it. There is a possibility that Star-Lord's dad to be both a father and the main villain given the fact that his identity is secret and the way Michael Rooker (Yondu) described him.
“My last words, Yondu feels that [Quill's] father was a jackass. I would take Yondu at his word. Maybe a dangerous jackass, but still a jackass. Who knows? I mean because that was a very"¦ I loved having that question being brought up by my first mates: maybe we should have taken him to his dad. That's why Yondu kept him. Peter Quill, there's something about this kid that really turned Yondu on. To take him in and raise him as his own kid was a big choice, big decision.” (Screenrant)
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will have no budgetary restrictions

Gunn revealed that he will deviate from the comics so we don’t know what to expect when it comes to Star Lord’s father especially.
The director and co-writer of Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2, as we mentioned, took over the social media and he also mentioned that he has financial freedom from Marvel which is great for him.
"As I've said a million times before Marvel hasn't given me a single non-budgetary restriction on Vol. 2. I love them."
And how he came up with the title…
“I called it Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 because Guardians of the Galaxy: Dusk of the Rising Shadows is a paragraph.”
