Every revival or reboot of a movie raises questions whether it will set higher standards than the previous installment, or it will at least reach the same success. Star Wars: The Force Awakens brought back the legendary actors that were there when the Star Wars franchise was born: Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, and that was exciting for the fans. It is always exciting to bring back the actors who have portrayed the first appearance of a certain character.
The warrior princess of the Amazons is not in a solo appearance for the first time. The most notable appearance of Princess Diana of Themyscira was in the 1975-1979 Wonder Woman TV series starring Lynda Carter. Before Patty Jenkins’ 2017 Wonder Woman movie, the superheroine will feature in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
A while ago there were speculations according to which Lynda Carter will feature in Wonder Woman, and when asked by Entertainment Weekly if she had talked to the studio she gave a complex reply.
“It's not so much that I want a cameo. If I had a part, if there was something that was nice about it, that was a piece that meant something, whether I was the mother or an image from the past or whatever it is, then it would be a bit different. But just to do a walk-on as a cameo for the fun of it, I probably wouldn't do it.”
Wonder Woman will keep Gal Gadot in the limelight
So, the answer hinted at a role that would have a significance in the movie. However, the studio hasn’t found a place for Lynda Carter in the production. The Washington Post reported that Carter’s publicist revealed that the legendary actress will not feature in the movie. The news come after many speculations about a possible return of the original Wonder Woman.
Lynda Carted wanted to play a role in the movie, but she didn’t want any role. Now Gal Gadot can breathe easily, as she will continue being the center of attention in the role of Wonder Woman.
