World of Warcraft is what can be called a ridiculously successful game - it has gathered such a huge fan base that it simply dwarves any other game out there. So these many fans can rejoice now - Warcraft is being adapted for the big screens and is directed by Duncan Jones, who helmed gems like Moon and Source Code.
There is a lot of weight on his shoulders, especially since, thus far, every game adaptation released until now has bombed either at the box office, either with the critics, either with both. So how will the Warcraft movie be like?
The movie has been announced about 10 years ago - this is how long the legions of fans have been waiting for this movie. Thankfully, the marketing campaign has started to move this week, with quite a few announcements for the flick.
Last week, for example, Empire Magazine features some new stills, with Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel), Durotan (Toby Kebbel) and Orgrim Doomhammer (Robert Kazinsky). Check them out below!
Then quickly came the preview for the trailer, which simply awed us with its realism - check it out below.
And now, finally, the first trailer for Warcraft was released!!! Check it out below!
From this trailer alone, some might say that Warcraft will be a bit formulaic. But since Duncan Jones is the one directing it, we can expect for some twists and turns which will make this one as memorable as all his other endeavors.
Check out below the official character posters, plus the official synopsis!
The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.
