Good news, Nintendo Switch 2 owners who also happen to be Marvel fans. It’s been confirmed that Marvel Rivals is coming to the console. The only bad news? We still don’t know precisely when. However, Marvel Games has definitively confirmed that the popular shooter will make its way to the console at some point.

IGN recently spoke with Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo. He was asked if a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Marvel Rivals, which launched in 2024, was on the way. He confirmed that one is already in the works. “We’re working on it, but when we have news, we’ll announce that one,” Koo said. “We will do it,” he added.

So there we have it. When the game first arrived, it was made available for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC. In 2024, the Nintendo Switch was at the end of its lifespan and unable to handle most current-gen games. So that wasn’t really an option. The Nintendo Switch 2 launched last year and has the hardware to handle it. The only downside is these things can’t happen overnight.

Here is the synopsis for Marvel Rivals.

“Marvel Rivals is a Super Hero team-based PVP shooter! Assemble an all-star Marvel squad, devise countless strategies by combining powers to form unique Team-Up skills and fight in destructible, ever-changing battlefields across the continually evolving Marvel Universe!”

This year will also see the release of multiple Marvel games. Marvel 1943: The Rise of Hydra, after being delayed, is coming later in 2026. The long-awaited Marvel’s Wolverine game for the PlayStation 5 is also due to arrive in September.

Meanwhile, Marvel Games has plenty of other projects at various stages of development. A new Iron Man video game was announced in 2022, but updates have been few and far between. A Blade game was also announced several years back. Similarly, there has been very little by way of meaningful updates since.

Marvel Rivals is currently in the midst of season 7. The Flight Mode World Tour Merch Vol. 2 event begins March 26th featuring new skins for Namor, Star-lord and Magik. This event works as a battle pass system where players earn XP to unlock rewards at different levels. The event works like a battle pass system where daily missions are completed to unlock rewards. Those who buy the premium pass will have permanent access to unlock the rewards even after the event ends.

Marvel Rivals is available now on Xbox, PlayStation and PC.
