Avengers: Infinity War Kicks Off Production Next Month!

There's no doubt that Avengers: Infinity War is one of the most highly anticipated superhero movies to date. The nineteenth Marvel Cinematic Universe installment will feature the greatest ensemble cast ever seen in a Marvel Studios project. The Russo Brothers, who are returning after directing the second and third Captain America standalone movies for the studio, have recently teased fans by sharing a photo captured as they scouted locations for the movie and a video showing the making of a mysterious prop, among other things.

So, we were pretty sure that they would be heading into production for Avengers: Infinity War in early 2017. But thanks to Omega Underground, we now know exactly when the cameras will start rolling. According to the report, the production start date is January 23, 2017.

Like many other MCU ventures, the May 4, 2018 release will shoot at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Georgia under the working title Mary Lou. But that is apparently not the only location. The report suggests that some production for Avengers: Infinity War will take place in London, UK. But that’s no surprise, considering the fact that Avengers: Age of Ultron shot in far too many locations.

The upcoming Russo Brothers flick isn’t the only project to begin filming in Atlanta next month. According to On Location Vacations, Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther will kick off production at the same location on January 15, 2017. So it will be interesting to see how Marvel manages to balance the productions of two big movies in the same stage space.

It was previously confirmed that the Russo Brothers will shoot Infinity War and the fourth untitled Avengers installment back-to-back, so they aren’t expected to wrap production until October or November 2017.
