At one point, we thought that Deadpool 2 was set to start shooting in January 2017. But original director Tim Miller suddenly walked away, and it appeared that the project wouldn’t meet the deadline. Twentieth Century Fox promptly hired John Wick co-director David Leitch as Miller's replacement, but production still hasn’t begun.
Recent reports suggested that cameras would start rolling on May 1, 2017, but it appears that there will be yet another production delay for the second standalone movie for the Merc with a Mouth. Omega Underground has reported that the British Columbia production list on the official website of the Directors Guild of Canada shows a new production start date.
According to the listing, filming has been pushed back a little more than a month and a half, to June 19, 2017. After 91 days of shooting, the Deadpool sequel will wrap up production on September 18, 2017. Check out the screenshot of the production list below!

With production delayed once again, the Ryan Reynolds starrer may not be a candidate for a March 2, 2018 release - one of the four release dates Fox set for upcoming Marvel superhero ventures. But since Simon Kinberg recently claimed in an interview that the studio is aiming for a 2018 release, it will likely end up in theaters on June 29 or November 2, 2018.
The writer/producer also revealed that the Deadpool sequel already has "a really good script", and that they’ve begun the casting process. Two fan-favorite mutants, Cable and Domino, will show up in the movie. The rumored frontrunners for the roles are Pierce Brosnan and Kerry Washington, respectively.
