X-Men: Apocalypse

X-Men: Apocalypse will, as we pointed out here, "impact really the course of history in the world", in Simon Kinberg's words.

Both Bryan Singer and Kinberg are reportedly convinced X-Men: Apocalypse will be a game-changer for the X-Men universe. A closer look to the cast reflects the magnitude of the changes the franchise will undergo.

Veterans Ian McKellen, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, will be reprising their consecrated roles: Magneto (old and young), young Professor X, Wolverine, young Mystique and young Beast.

But X-Men: Apocalypse will also see the debut of a host of new mutants - well, new as in younger versions of some or new as in never before seen on the big screen.

Check out Bryan Singer's report and some awesome concept art.

X-Men: Apocalypse, a "monster of a movie"

Well, that's how Singer put it in an exclusive interview with Empire Online. And to stress it out even more, he adds: "The stakes are so high and global and the villain "¨is so mythic. It's definitely an X-Men movie, but it really feels different".

X-Men: Apocalypse director also addresses the standing of young Cyclops (played by Tye Sheridan), young Jean Grey (portrayed by Sophie Turner) and young Storm (Alexandra Shipp).

In his words, "They're as much a part "¨of the movie as our main cast". And goes into detail: "Scott is not yet the squeaky-clean leader. Storm is "¨a troubled character who is going down the wrong path in life. And Jean is complex, interesting and not fully mature.

That sounds engaging, right? And Singer adds:

"It's fun to see someone struggling with their powers when you know one day they'll become the most powerful person in the world.

Basically, Cyclops, Jean and Storm's parts won't confine to mere cameos. They have full-blown roles crucial to the plot.

X-Men: Apocalypse will also introduce Nightcrawler (Kodi Smit-McPhee), Jubilee (Lana Condor), Angel (Ben Hardy), Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and, of course, Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac).
