The Russos Reveal a Scrapped Howard the Duck Cameo from Infinity War

Howard the Duck was one of the most unexpected cameos to be made in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. In the post credits scene, we saw the Marvel character sipping from a glass and asking the Collector about the dog Cosmo.

This wasn't, however, the first time when Howard the Duck appeared on the big screens. The character starred in his own 1986 movie, a film that wasn't at all well received by the critics. So, of course, after the cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy, the fans started wondering if we'll see him again.

Who knows, maybe even in his own solo Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

That didn't happen – he did pop up in Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2. But now the Russos have just revealed, a cameo featuring Howard was included in the Infinity War script. But, given the length of the movie, the cameo was scrapped.

This isn't all. The same scene also featured Ken Jeong (Hangover, Community)!

Howard the Duck was in one draft of the script. Howard the Duck actually had a really good scene"¦ we were going to cameo with [The Hangover and Community star] Ken Jeong, with Howard the Duck. That was a much-beloved scene by us but it just didn't end up fitting at all.” (Anthony Russo, via CBM)

Well, maybe this will give Ken Jeong the occasion to appear as another character in the MCU.

As Joe Russo further explained, the scene was supposed to see Peter Quill trying to find information from the Duck, while the latter was playing poker with Ken Jeong:

Yeah, it was [Peter] Quill trying to track down some information from Howard the Duck on some outlier planet and interrupting him during a poker game.

It isn't said, though, whether Jeong was playing himself or another character. What do you think?

Should they have shot this Howard the Duck cameo and keep it as an Infinity War bonus scene?
