The Punisher: Turk Barrett and Frank Castle's Battle Van Confirmed!

We will definitely see Turk Barrett and the Battle Van in The Punisher!

We still don't have a specific date for the premiere of Marvel's The Punisher, but we’re sure that it will happen sometime in 2017’s hundred-odd remaining days. And now we know that we’ll see a recurring character from previous Marvel/Netflix shows and Frank Castle’s iconic vehicle when the show arrives.

Turk Barrett (Rob Morgan) has appeared in DaredevilLuke Cage, and The Defenders, and he’s set to return in Castle's standalone series. A new photo of Morgan and Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/The Punisher) in the November issue of SFX Magazine (via Tumblr) confirmed that he’ll appear.

Barrett has provided some comic relief for this darker portion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it’s possible that this will be his last appearance. He’s survived having Daredevil and Luke Cage knock him around, but those guys weren't really willing to go so far as to take his life. But The Punisher might not hesitate to do so if Barrett tries to double-cross him.

Here’s the photo, plus one more!

In the comics, the Battle Van was Castle’s means of transportation and a tool in his war against crime. The Netflix Media confirmed that we’ll see it in his upcoming live-action show, as well (via Movie Pilot). Marvel Television head honcho Jeph Loeb had the following to say about the vehicle:

They travel around in the Battle Van in the comics, so it was important for us to do our version of that. It's not the Batmobile, but it's definitely an iconic character that people know.

We recently learned that David Lieberman, aka Micro (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), will appear in the show. He’ll be living off the grid in the basement of a power plant that Castle will use as his base. Production designer Scott Murphy revealed that the basement has a parking bay for the Battle Van. Castle's wall-mounted armory is right next to that, making it easy for him to toss his desired weapons in the van.
