Back in September 2014, we first heard that a TV series for TNT – based on the DC Comics superhero team Teen Titans – is under development. We also came to know that Dick Grayson is going to be the leader of the superhero team in the series which is being scripted by Oscar winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes.
Earlier this February, we came to know that Barbara Gordon, Hawk, Dove, Raven and Starfire will comprise the Teen Titans team. And, after another few months of silence, we've got some updates on the upcoming series, thanks to TNT president Kevin Reily.
In a recent interview with TV Line, Reilly gave us offered some new details on the Teen Titans TV series including when production begins and what we can expect from the series.

According to the TNT president, casting and production of the Teen Titans series starts this summer after, but don't forget that he's used a "˜maybe' in his statement! He clarifies that they are in no hurry with the series as they want it to standout. He states:
"I sat down with Akiva and said "” and he ultimately agreed "” that the [TV] landscape right now is well-serviced on the superhero front. So what space is this going to inhabit? And really what he wants to do is be very true."

Reilly also talks a bit about the setting of the Teen Titans series, "There were consequences to things that happened; it wasn't somebody died and they moved on. There was the first superhero to be an addict [in Roy Harper's Speedy]. It's a coming-of-age story for Robin, who feels like Batman has betrayed him."
He concludes, "I think it's going to end up being a very, very interesting offering. I think it's going to be excellent."
