Suicide Squad Trailer Song - The Unsung Beauty!

Comic Con Footage

Just a few days back, we received the first official trailer of the third DC Cinematic Universe installment –Suicide Squad! We've already talked a lot about the trailer - you can check out the details and analysis over here and here respectively. But one thing I felt that we completely skipped was the background song used in the trailer!

Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and Jared Leto's The Joker are most talked about ingredients of the Suicide Squad trailer - and apparently they are the most praised ones. Viola Davis' Amanda Waller, Cara Delevingne's Enchantress, Will Smith's Deadshot and other characters have also found themselves in the talks. But guys, isn't the sound track played in background in the trailer something that deserves some focus?

I feel the song has a vital role in taking the Suicide Squad trailer to another level of breathtaking awesomeness! The lyrics and the creepy melody both set the tone for the entire trailer! Before sharing details on the track, let's check out the Suicide Squad trailer in Ultra HD!

Hit 2 to check out the lyrics of the background soundtrack!

Lyrics Of Suicide Squad Trailer Song!

Comic Con Footage

Suicide Squad

"I started a joke, which started the whole world crying,
But I didn’t see that the joke was on me.

I started to cry, which started the whole world laughing,
If I’d only seen that the joke was on me.

These are the lines that you get to listen with a female voice (the singer still unidentified) singing them in the background of the Suicide Squad trailer in between the various dialogues used in it. The first of the four lines becomes audible with the end of the treacherous conversation among Amanda Waller and a couple of military officials - with Harley Quinn asserting her arrival to the world of cinema with the creepiest acrobatics show of the world!

The last of the four lines is sang with the entire Suicide Squad advancing with their gloomy faces - in between the scenes where The Joker says, "I'm not gonna to kill you" and "I'm just gonna hurt you, really, really bad"!

The best thing about the song is that it tends to express the situations of the Suicide Squad team members - tends to demand a sympathetic outlook for these villains. The word JOKE in the song is enough to relate it with The Joker - even though his appearance doesn't beg for any sympathy! And I have a feeling that these lyrics might also relate to Amanda Waller at the end of the movie because she is definitely found starting a JOKE in the trailer - who knows!

Hit 3 to learn about the original version of the song!

A Bee Gees Song From 1960s!

The Bee Gees

The Bee Gees

The lyrics used in the background track of Suicide Squad trailer are the first four lines of a 1968 song by the Bee Gees - a popular pop music group of late 1960s and early 1970s. The English pop music group consisted of three brothers - Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. Even though the lyrics have been collected, you will find no resemblance at all between the tune used in Suicide Squad trailer and that in the original. And I'm sure the Bee Gees never thought that this track of theirs will someday be used in a movie on a team of supervillains! I'm sure you will agree with me after listening to the original track below!

Hit 4 to check out Suicide Squad version of the song without any dialogues in between!

Listen To Just The Song From The Trailer!

Suicide Squad

We can expect that the song used in the trailer of the David Ayer venture gets officially released someday - I'm sure many would love that! But we don't have the full song yet. However, thanks to some sound effect genius you can still enjoy just the four lines and the tune without having to listen to the dialogues that come up in between in the trailer! Check this one out!
