Brand New Trailer For The Flash Movie Released By Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. has released a brand new, full-length trailer for The Flash movie. The footage made its debut during the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon, which is currently happening in Las Vegas. The footage is absolutely packed with action, including lots and lots of Batman. We also get a lot more from Supergirl, as well as a slightly better grip on the story. Check it out.

That is pretty long as far as trailers go, clocking in at nearly three minutes. As we can see, Barry Allen destroys the timeline in attempting to prevent his mom from dying. This ends up serving as a very loose adaptation of the beloved Flashpoint storyline from DC Comics. Though it is, indeed, taking many liberties. There are also two Batmans at play here, as well as multiple versions of the Flash. It’s certainly not lacking for action sequences.

Here is the synopsis for The Flash.

“Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry’s only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?”

This film has been in development hell for years, with Warner Bros. first trying to give the solo character a movie back in 2004. Ezra Miller’s version has been particularly troubled. The constant shifting with the DC Universe, as well as Miller’s off-screen troubles (not to mention the pandemic) have complicated matters at every turn. But this summer, the movie finally hits theaters, bringing the journey full circle.

Meanwhile, DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran are getting ready to reboot the DC Universe. The first projects as part of this reboot have already been revealed, with Gunn directing Superman: Legacy. That film will hit theaters in 2025. But the idea is for The Flash to serve as a bit of a reset.

The cast also includes Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Ron Livingston (The Conjuring), Maribel Verdu (Y tu mamá también), Kiersey Clemons (Zack Snyder’s Justice League), Antje Traue (Man of Steel), Ben Affleck (Justice League) and Michael Keaton (Batman).

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 16.
