Whenever a comic book character is confirmed for a particular movie, there's one thing we are always going to do, and that is to come up with some actors' names that we consider a good fit for the role. A report surfaced on the web yesterday claiming that Black Manta will be the main antagonist in the Aquaman movie. That report was enough for the fan casting to get underway in no time.

A fan proposed on Twitter that Michael K. Williams would be a perfect choice for the Black Manta role in the July 27, 2018 release. And that suggestion got the attention of the actor himself, who seems very keen on the idea. He responded to the tweet by pleading to God to make it come true! Check out his reaction below!

Michael K. Williams' portrayal of Omar Little in The Wire and Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire are enough to demonstrate his acting potential. He's also been praised for his roles in the TV film Bessie and in big-screen ventures like 12 Years a Slave and The Gambler.

So, hiring the 49-year-old actor for the role of Black Manta doesn't seem like a bad idea. It would be something like a Game of Thrones/The Wire crossover showdown, considering the fact that Jason Momoa (Aquaman) portrayed Khal Drogo in the other HBO series!

But the question remains whether Williams would be the best choice to feature as Black Manta. I would personally love to see Idris Elba playing the supervillain. But since he's currently in the Marvel Cinematic Universe playing Heimdall, we don't have a clear idea about whether he's got the freedom to join the DC Extended Universe as long as that contract exists.

And despite the fact that Black Manta's arrival in the Aquaman movie was reported by a very reliable outlet, it is yet to be confirmed by Warner Bros. When asked about it in a recent interview, director James Wan said he couldn't comment on that "this early on".
