MCU Superhero Clean-Up Sitcom In The Works

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to expand further with yet another spin-off television show – and this time it’s going to be a sitcom.

ABC is looking to add the new show to the franchise’s growing roster – which already includes the likes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter and Daredevil (with more to come) – but this one is going to be very different to anything we’ve seen before.

In addition to being a sitcom, it’s not going to feature any heroes as lead characters – well, not in the traditional superhero sense anyway. This is going to feature the people who have to clean-up any messes left by the battles that take place between super-powered characters (you could say they’re the real heroes anyway, right?!).

So, exactly who are these people? Which group are dedicated to cleaning up the destruction caused by events like the Battle of New York from The Avengers movie, the Dark Elf invasion of England in Thor: The Dark World, the Battle of Sokovia in Avengers: Age of Ultron and the countless other battles from the MCU, both in films and on television shows, that have caused massive damage to the environment? Move on to the next page to find out!

That’s right, according to the likes of Variety, there’s going to be a Damage Control sitcom as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Damage Control are essentially a construction company whose job it is to specifically repair the damage caused by battles involving characters like the Avengers.

In fact, in the comic books, the organisation has been half-owned by both Tony Stark and Wilson Fisk - Iron Man and the Kingpin, both of whom exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, of course - even though Stark felt uncomfortable co-operating with a criminal mastermind.

Could we see a Tony Stark/Wilson Fisk joint venture in the MCU?

With events like the aforementioned Battle of Sokovia causing so much destruction – and events like those in Captain America: Civil War coming up – this organisation is undoubtedly necessary in the MCU!

Damage Control have actually hired superheroes to work for them in the comic books – the MCU’s own Ant-Man and the Greek god Hercules, for example – so there may be some superhero cameos on the show.

One thing’s for sure – we’re really looking forward to it!

Here at DailySuperheroes.com, we can’t help but feel that we deserve a little bit of credit for this idea. A couple of months ago, we published an article about obscure Marvel properties that deserve movies – and we suggested Damage Control as one of those properties. Have Marvel executives seen our article and been inspired? We think it’s a possibility!

What do you think about this news? Are you looking forward to a Damage Control sitcom? Should Marvel be focusing on other properties to bring to our television screens? Have your say below.
