Jared Leto wants the Joker to team up with Batman

BBC Radio 5 interviewed Jared Leto about his character in Suicide Squad, and he revealed that it was a fun role to play. He also talked about the chemistry between The Joker and Harley Quinn.

Asked if he researched The Joker, Leto said that he did, but at a certain point, he gave up because there was so much information. The fact that there were so many interpretations of The Joker made Jared Leto take a new turn and decide to make his own unique version of the character.

He was the last actor cast for the movie, under a lot of pressure but with a lot of excitement. And Jared Leto did a great job portraying The Joker.

Leto's approach to the story, the character, and possible scenarios he's discussed in interviews are definitely unique. This time, the host asked what villain he would love to team up with. He answered:

I think that the most compelling character to team up with would be Batman. I know he’s not a villain, but it would just be so much fun. The thing about this film is, for a lot of people, The Joker is exciting when he’s pulling the strings. In this film, it’s more of an introduction to The Joker. As the film stands now, it’s much more of a supporting part than a lot of people may have assumed. It feels like there could be more to come.

Huh? Batman? I mentioned that his approaches are unique! As for reprising the role of The Joker, Leto thinks that is up to the public."I think it entirely depends upon the response of the public,” the actor said. “If they respond to this Joker, I can imagine The Joker coming back. But if they don’t, I certainly wouldn’t want to overstay my welcome.”

He also mentioned that Joker's role in Suicide Squad was just introductory, and there's more to explore about the character. He shot so many scenes that the producers could make a movie about the Joker.

I think that I brought so much to the table in every scene that it was probably more about filtering all of the insanity, because I wanted to give a lot of options, and I think there’s probably enough footage in this film for a Joker movie. If I were to die tomorrow, maybe the studio would roll something out.

What do you think about Jared Leto's performance in Suicide Squad? Would you like to see him reprise the role?
