20th Century Fox has released new viral video to promote X-Men: Apocalypse!

Twentieth Century Fox bagged loads of appreciation with their outstanding marketing for the Deadpool movie and it appears likely that X-Men: Apocalypse’s marketing will be exceptional, as well! The studio has released a new viral video, which is presented as a commercial for a television show titled In the Footsteps of"¦En Sabah Nur.

The video is clearly an homage to In Search of"¦, Leonard Nimoy's fondly remembered paranormal show. It aired from the late 1970s to the early 1980s, and X-Men: Apocalypse is set in that era, as well. Nimoy's Star Trek co-star George Takei serves as the narrator in the video.

Right at the start, the video uses some footage from X-Men: Days of Future Past, with the narrator referring to it as the time when the world first came to know about the existence of mutants. Then the focus shifts to En Sabah Nur, who he describes as the first mutant.

He teases Apocalypse's origin story, including the destruction that followed his awakening and his mysterious, thousand-year disappearance. The video ends with the narrator asking the viewers to watch the show May 27. This is the same date as when X-Men: Apocalypse hits the theaters!

Twentieth Century Fox has also released a detailed historical timeline of the X-Men: Apocalypse titular supervillain titled The Ages of Apocalypse. The timeline begins with the rise of Oscar Isaac's character in Egypt back in 3100 BC, pointing to him as the responsible party for the fall of some ancient civilizations. The timeline also displays the extent of the casualties resulting from those events. Check it out below!
