Elektra to get her Epic Red Costume "˜Organically'!

Elektra in Daredevil?

Elektra Natchios and The Punisher are the hottest two additions for the second season of Marvel's Daredevil. All the episodes of the Netflix series are coming on March 18 - so, you are surely getting to watch both these characters on that very day.

Elodie Yung – the actress who played Jinx in the 2013 flick G.I. Joe: Retaliation - will portray Elektra. We've already got our first look at the French actress as Frank Miller's DAUGHTER! In case you didn't get it, Miller claims that he is Elektra's "˜father' and that Elodie's incarnation can be called "˜anything but not Elektra'!

Well, we don't know why Miller is so unimpressed with Elodie's portrayal even when he hasn't watched her utter a single word! But one thing that might have concerned us, the fans, a bit is that whether we'll get to see her donned in the classic red costume. We haven't seen wearing that yet.

But, in a recent press conference, one of the showrunners of Daredevil Season 2 responded to such a query. It was Doug Petrie who said (via Comic Book Movie):

"We love the comics – we’re fans – but, we wanted Elektra’s costume to be reasonable for a martial artist and she’s also a little bit of a stylist. There’s definitely a costume, but it needs to happen organically like we saw on Daredevil.

In the first season, we had to wait till the last episodes to watch Charlie Cox's titular superhero wearing his classic red suit. And it wasn't exactly the same as we've seen in the comics - it had a more realistic tone. From the showrunner's statement, it seems like they would present definitely Elektra in her epic red costume at some point - but, with a more realistic take.

Elektra in Daredevil Season 2 - Kind of a Sociopath!

Elodie Yung describes her Elektra in Daredevil Season 2!

Elodie Yung was also present in the press conference. She shared an insight on her version of Elektra. She stated:

"We think Elektra is kind of a sociopath. This world is a game for her, like a chess game. What motivates her is what she wants. She’ll use anything "¦ to get to her goal. On the other hand, we wanted to create a character with different layers.

Interesting, isn't it? She further added:

"I think Elektra is not a bad person. She’s not a good person. She’s a person with different traits.

Elodie's concluding statement reminds me off something I heard Vondie Curtis-Hall's Ben Urich say in the first season of Daredevil. He said to Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page, "˜There are no heroes, no villains – just people with different agendas'!

Are you okay with Elektra getting her costume "˜organically' like Daredevil? Share via comments!
