This year's second Marvel Cinematic Universe installment Doctor Strange kicked off its filming back in November last year. Not only have we gotten our first look at Benedict Cumberbatch, but also we've been allowed to know about the roles of the major cast members in the movie.

Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Stuhlbarg would play the roles of the Ancient One, Karl Mordo and Nicodemus West in Doctor Strange. Names of Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen's characters haven't been disclosed but we have got descriptions on the particular characters. We only didn't know what roles Amy Landecker and Scott Adkins would play in the movie. They are a part of the cast roster.

But those who are familiar with Doctor Strange comics might have noticed that they didn't confirm a cast for a supporting character that has appeared since 1963. The character is Wong – the Sorcerer Supreme's sidekick and manservant. Won't we see Wong in the upcoming Scott Derrickson flick? Indeed we will! The cast for the role of Wong has been confirmed!

Benedict Wong will play Wong in Doctor Strange!

Benedict Wong has joined Doctor Strange as Wong, confirms The Hollywood Reporter. We saw the British actor a few months back in the science fiction blockbuster The Martian. He played the role of Bruce Ng in the Matt Damon starrer movie. Previously, we saw him in another Ridley Scott venture Prometheus. He played the role of Kublai Khan in the 2014 Netflix series Marco Polo.

So, in Doctor Strange, we have a BENEDICT as a sidekick to another BENEDICT and an actor WONG playing a character WONG! Funny, isn't it?

In the comic books, Wong is an athletic character with mastery in martial arts. But he hasn't got any superpowers. The character usually performs healing duties and assists the Sorcerer Supreme in occult matters. He has also appeared as a supporting character in the New Avengers comics after the events of Civil War. So, it won't be surprising if we see Benedict Wong playing Wong in any of the future Avengers movies.
