Captain America And Peggy Carter TV Show May Get Made, Says Endgame Writer!

[Warning: This post
contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Avengers: Endgame!]

After watching Avengers: Endgame, many fans are hoping that Marvel gives us a television series, or even a movie, revolving around Captain America and Peggy Carter, aka Agent Carter. That is possible, according to one of the writers of the April 26 release.

In Endgame, we saw Steve Rogers finally getting the dance
with Peggy that he was forced to take a rain check on during the events of Captain America: The First Avenger. And
it wasn’t just a dance. He even got to grow old with the love of his life. Most
fans are happy with how things turned out for Cap. But many of them want to see
more of him and Peggy. They are hoping that Marvel explores the duo’s
adventures together through a small or big screen project in the future.

Christopher Markus, who co-wrote Endgame with Stephen McFeely, wouldn’t write off the chances of that happening. In a new interview with Fandango, he was asked whether a TV show or a movie could exist that picks up Steve and Peggy right where Endgame left them. Here’s how he responded:

Possibly. I think
maybe all I did was Steve was a stay-at-home dad and Peggy went to work at
S.H.I.E.L.D. I don't know that there were any adventures.

Markus implies that Captain America could have been just a stay-at-home dad in that reality, but directors Anthony and Joe Russo probably wouldn’t agree. They suggested in a recent interview that they would like to believe that Cap still kept helping people when they needed it in that timeline.

Some of the fans probably would still be interested a series that doesn’t have a lot of action. For instance, one episode may find Cap revealing to Peggy that he once kissed her niece, Sharon Carter. According to Hayley Atwell, Peggy wouldn’t be okay with that and it might even turn her into a supervillain. Maybe the story will deal with how Cap stops Peggy from becoming a supervillain.

Anyways, during the interview, Christopher Markus also
revealed that the Cap/Peggy reunion was his personal favorite moment from
Endgame. He said:

Certainly seeing Steve reunited with Peggy at the end is, you know, that is literally full circle with our time in the MCU. You know, we did First Avenger, we did the Agent Carter show in the middle, and now we got them back together at the end, and it feels right.Hayley Atwell recently posted a hilarious DubSmash clip that featuring herself, Chris Evans and James D’Arcy (who portrays Edwin Jarvis). They apparently shot it during Endgame production in 2017. Head over to Instagram to check it out!
