There’s no doubt that Avengers: Infinity War is going to be 2018's biggest movie. It can’t be otherwise, as it marks the beginning of the end for ten years of Marvel movies. Thanos and his Black Order will have the Infinity Stones, which means that death is just around the corner for some of our beloved MCU characters, and it’s very likely that these events will culminate with Avengers 4.
There’s been plenty of speculation about which characters won’t survive. Based on what we’ve heard about the presumed final Avengers installment, it seems safe to say that all of the major characters will return. Keep in mind that there are spoilers ahead!
Avengers 4 is expected to wrap sometime in January 2018, so it’s safe to assume that some of the cast members have already completed their scenes. We can also assume that Stan’s Winter Soldier will survive the initial scuffle with Thanos' minions.
Paul Bettany, who plays Vision, recently posted a couple of pics on his Instagram account. In one of them, he’s decked out in his full regalia, complete with the Infinity Stone that’s etched in his forehead:
We figure that this means that he’ll also survive the Infinity War, although the first trailer saw him lose the fight and the Mind Stone. So this might be a major spoiler for both Infinity War and Avengers 4.
We should also keep in mind that the most recent reveals from the set have hinted that we’ll see a number of flashbacks in Infinity War. Might there be one involving Vision?
No matter what happens, we’re sure about one thing: Paul Bettany will return for Avengers 4!
Avengers: Infinity War will be released on May 4, 2018. Avengers 4 will follow on May 3, 2019.
