Wonder Woman is now a member of the '$700 million worldwide' club!

Wonder Woman's wondrous performance continued as it sailed past another box office milestone, topping $700 million worldwide after just 31 days in theaters. Additionally, it surpassed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at the domestic box office to become the DC Extended Universe’s biggest installment to date.

According to Forbes and Box Office Mojo, Wonder Woman brought in impressive $15.57 million during its fifth weekend. It did lose 529 theaters this past weekend, but its box office draw fell only 37 percent in comparison with its previous weekend.

Wonder Woman’s domestic take now sits at over $346.1 million, placing it at forty-second on the list of all-time highest-grossing movies in the US. It’s surpassed the likes of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers ($342.5 million), Zootopia ($341.3 million), and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part I ($337.13 million).

Among comic book adaptations, the movie is currently the eleventh-highest domestic grosser to date. It’s expected to move up at least a couple of places past Deadpool ($363.1 million) and Spider-Man 2 ($373.6 million) before its theatrical run is complete.

The Patty Jenkins flick added another $13.6 million overseas as its foreign total grew to around $361.8 million. With its global tally at $708 million, the movie currently holds the ninety-third spot among all-time highest grosses worldwide.

We should note that Wonder Woman hasn’t yet been released in Japan, where female-driven movies have recently had outstanding performances, including Frozen at around $249 million and Maleficent at $67 million. Currently, it seems very likely that the movie will easily surpass Suicide Squad ($745.6 million) and The Amazing Spider-Man ($759.7 million), before moving on to challenge Deadpool ($783.1 million) and Spider-Man 2 ($783.8 million).
