Wonder Woman is on track for fourth biggest domestic third weekend in superhero genre!

Analysts had predicted that Wonder Woman would bring in $65 to $100 million at the domestic box office during its first weekend. The movie then proved the analysts wrong by bagging $103.2 million. During its second weekend, it subdued all its predecessors in the DC Extended Universe, including Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad. The movie is now on its third weekend, and Gal Gadot's Amazon Warrior Princess is looking strong enough to rival the giants of the superhero genre.

According to Forbes, Wonder Woman is on track for a $40-41 million third weekend, a decrease from last weekend of just 32 percent. If estimates hold, the movie’s third weekend will find itself fourth among those of the highest-grossing superhero movies. The current Top 5 are The Avengers ($55.6 million), Spider-Man ($45 million), The Dark Knight ($42.6 million), Avengers: Age of Ultron ($38.8 million), and Iron Man 3 ($35.7 million).

With a whopping $244.6 million total in its first 15 days, Wonder Woman’s domestic take has already surpassed that of Logan ($226.2 million) and The Fate of the Furious ($224.7 million), making it the third highest-grossing movie of 2017 (via Box Office Mojo). Right now, it trails Beauty and the Beast ($503.1 million) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($371 million).

Wonder Woman has also reached the milestone of $500 million worldwide. With $517.3 million in earnings, it's safe to assume that the movie will end its box office run north of $700 million. It could even sail past Suicide Squad's total haul of $745.6 million. The David Ayer flick was a commercial success for Warner Bros. and they were quick to greenlight a sequel. They should do the same for the Patty Jenkins movie, too.
