Wonder Woman 2 won’t hit theaters for more than two years, but it's been in active development at Warner Bros. for some time. With another spectacular Diana Prince adventure in mind, the studio has added a new member to the sequel’s writing team, which already includes Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns. Jenkins and Johns have been working on a treatment since June.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Expendables co-writer Dave Callaham has signed on to pen the Wonder Woman 2 script. The writer’s previous movie credits include Godzilla; Universal's Dark Universe reboot of The Wolfman; and Zombieland 2. He also worked on the upcoming Amazon series Jean-Claude Van Johnson.
This announcement came shortly after Jenkins officially sealed the deal to direct, co-write, and produce the sequel to this summer's superhero blockbuster, which garnered rave reviews and bagged over $410 million in North America and $816 million globally. After months of negotiations, the director agreed to a seven-figure paycheck and the assurance of a considerable backend.

It appears that Jenkins will have more authority over Wonder Woman 2 than she did over the original movie. THR suggested that it was that Callaham was brought into the fold on her recommendation. The director and writer already had a strong working relationship after collaborating on an English-language adaptation of the Norwegian action comedy Jackpot (original title, Arme Riddere) before Jenkins joined the DC Extended Universe.
Jenkins recently indicated that the events of the December 13, 2019 release would take place in the US during the Cold War era. Other than that, we don’t know anything about the plot or the identity of any supervillain Diana Prince might face, as those details are still being kept under wraps.
