Trevante Rhodes Addresses Green Lantern Rumors

Currently the hottest Justice League-related rumor has it that the movie will feature a Green Lantern. Of course, Zack Snyder has denied it, but the fact that Henry Cavill teased about Hal Jordan being cast supported the rumor rather than debunking it.

The Green Lantern Corps movie is set to arrive in 2020, so there’s still plenty of time for this type of announcement (especially if Hal Jordan doesn't appear in Justice League). However, with the success of Moonlight, many say that Warner Bros. is already eying a couple of actors, this time for the role of John Stewart. And Trevante Rhodes is one of them.

MTV News asked the actor about his plans for the future, specifically about the possibility that he might take on a superhero role. The actor replied that it would be very enticing, especially since it would make him more visible to the larger audience (in the sense that people would then seek out his other movies, including Moonlight, of course).

That’s everybody’s dream. When you’re a child, you’re like, “I want to be a superhero, I want to be a superhero.” So in that regard, that is something that’s really enticing, but more so because it puts my face in front of more people, who will want to [then] come and see a movie, like Moonlight, that I really care about.

However, when directly asked about a specific superhero, the actor, like many before him (Paul Rudd and Jason Momoa, for example), said that he doesn't know anything:

It's all rumors, man, all rumors.

Check out the interview below. And we can rest assured that Trevante Rhodes has said everything that he’s allowed to say:
