Toby Kebbell: A Return as Doctor Doom?

Fantastic Four was probably the worst comic book movie of the past decade, but it did have some talented actors portraying the heroes and villain. Interference by the studio caused it to fail, prompting quite a few fans to say that Fox would make a deal with Marvel and borrow the characters (along with a host of others). This would have been a sweet deal, since there are some interesting Fantastic Four villains.

Doctor Doom, portrayed by Toby Kebbell in Fant4stic, is one of those interesting villains. You’ll get to see the actor in Kong: Skull Island when it’s released on the tenth.

Yeah, that’s Toby Kebbell’s performance (SciFied)

After Simon Kinberg commented that Fox had the rights but wouldn’t make another movie until they had a good script, Kebbell was asked during a promotional interview with Hey U Guys whether he’d be interested in reprising his Dr. Doom role. The actor was pretty blunt when saying that he wouldn't be in the sequel.

Kebbell also said that Doctor Doom, who defeated even Thor in the comics, is too big a villain to be relegated to fighting just the Fantastic Four:

Truth is, Doom is an incredible bad guy. They just keep trying to force him into the Fantastic Four. They just need to move it out because he smashes up Thor and Iron Man and they get wasted. Doom is a monster, but my Doom was not, so that is that.

So is Toby Kebbell interested in reprising the role? Of course, but only if a deal is made between Marvel/Disney and Fox. Quite frankly, he’s a great actor and he’d probably nail it.
