Thor: Ragnarok Art Teases Guardians of the Galaxy Cameo

With less than two months to go before Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters, Fandango announced that tickets for the movie were set to go on sale today! To mark the occasion, Marvel released a new batch of posters that spotlight the film’s main characters. Once again, the images emphasize how colorful Thor: Ragnarok is going to be.

The film’s look and tone couldn’t be more different from what we've previously seen in the Thor franchise. As a matter of fact, if you keep in mind that it’s a cosmic adventure, Thor: Ragnarok’s visual style closely resembles that of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies.

Screen Rant noted that one of the many concept art pieces for Ragnarok had been overlooked, even though it appeared to reveal a major cameo. The website said that the art piece featured the Milano, the Guardians’ ship.

When asked about this, producer Brad Winderbaum didn't explicitly confirm or deny the report. Check it out and tell us what you think:

We're definitely leaning into Jack [Kirby] more heavily than Guardians. There are elements of Guardians that will work their way into our film, both stylistically and narratively. In the sense that, like all the Earthbound heroes feel like they're living and breathing the same air, certainly now that we're in space it feels, in a very MCU way, that we're living and breathing the same air.

In the Avengers: Infinity War clip shown at the D23 Expo, the Guardians ran into Thor, and Taika Waititi promptly said that the featured scene didn't spoil Thor: Ragnarok.

That may be true, but at the same time, the Guardians abandoned the Milano in Vol. 2, and it appeared in the Infinity War clip. So maybe the Guardians will recover their ship in Thor: Ragnarok. After all, Grandmaster is The Collector’s brother, and The Collector was left without a base after James Gunn's MCU directorial debut. So maybe Ragnarok will also explore that connection.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released on November 3, 2017.
