Talking about this character, Suicide Squad director David Ayer said that he looked at the real world when creating this new Joker. Thus, he checked out the social media profiles of real world drug lords for inspiration - understandable, given the many tattoos the villain sports.

However, there is a twist, since all the Joker's tattoos are actually his own history, written on his skin. According to the director, there is nothing gratuitous about this Joker, with every mark on his body being an Easter-Egg for the fans to discover. Even the grills the Joker wears have a history of their own, one of which is canon, according to the director.

As far as we are concerned, we were already sold on this new version. But these new details about the Suicide Squad villain make us even more excited about the movie. How can we not be when David Ayer says that birds stopped flying whenever Jared Leto took the stage?

Damaged? Can't wait to find out why!
