Joker and Harley in The Suicide Squad

In 2016, on the 5th of August, we will see the villains of the DC comics in a different light: The Suicide Squad will debut on the cinemas, and this debut will bring quite a few surprises.

First off, the movie has the working title Bravo 14 and will begin preproduction in February in Toronto. The actual shooting will take place between April and September.

And then there is the big news - the news concerning the cast.

What characters have been announced?

First off, a couple of months ago the first rumors appeared concerning The Suicide Squad - and the rumors where that Will Smith, Tom Hardy and Margot Robbie are all set to appear in the movie, with the beautiful Wolf of Wall Street blonde set to portray for the first time in a live-action film Harley Quinn.

Today it has all been revealed.

Will Smith will be Deadshot, who is, in the comics, one of Batman's greatest foes. Then Tom Hardy will portray Rick Flagg - most likely, the Bane actor will portray the Junior, who leads The Suicide Squad for Amanda Walters.

Jai Courtney (who will be seen in Terminator: Genisys) will be Captain Boomerang (who is usually an enemy of the Flash), while Cara Delevingne will be Enchantress (who is both a superheroine and a supervillain in the comics).

The heavy hitters

The last two actors who were announced are Jared Leto and Margot Robbie. While we presumed that Margot Robbie will be Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad, the confirmation came today.

But what about Jared Leto, who said time and time again that he won't be the Joker? Well, surprise! Jared Leto will be The Joker in The Suicide Squad - and it is rumored that he will reprise his role for the future Batman films!

What else?

If this isn't enough, then we don't know what is! The movie will be directed by David Ayer - you may know him for the little movies such as Training Day, Fury, and End of Watch.
