Snyder explains why Gal Gadot got Wonder Woman role!

Gal Gadot is set to portray the first live-action cinematic incarnation of Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. The female superhero that debuted in the pages of DC Comics back in 1941 has never appeared in a Hollywood full-length live-action feature film. And that's why the Amazonian Warrior Princess has proved to be the most anticipated debuting comic book character of 2016.

But the casting choice for Wonder Woman role for the DC Extended Universe didn't impress many. "˜Too skinny' and "˜poor acting skills' were the common allegations against the Israeli actress. However, Zack Snyder has called her "˜an amazing Wonder Woman'. He did so in a recent interview where he also addressed the "˜trailer spoiled the movie' complaints and the viral spoiler-laced review.

And in another recent interview, the director went on to explain why they chose Gal Gadot for the role. The Australian website Film Ink took the interview. Snyder said:

"But the thing with Gal is that she's strong, she's beautiful, and she's a kind person, which is interesting, but fierce at the same time. It's that combination of being fierce but kind at the same time that we were looking for.

The director shared that the actress had held her own with the "˜big and commanding' Ben Affleck during her screen test. The Batman cast, too, was impressed with Gal's performance in the screen test.

When asked how many actresses they tested for the role of Wonder Woman, Snyder said:

"I can't even remember how many in terms of interviews, but for the final test, I think that we tested six actresses. But we interviewed and saw hundreds, so it was a pretty exhausting process.

Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman - Bigger Role Than Cameo!

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman isn’t playing just a cameo!

How big is Gal Gadot's role in Batman V Superman? Does Wonder Woman have as much screen time as Batman and Superman in the movie? That's something we all want to know, don't we? And the interviewer didn't shy away from asking it to the director. He replied:

"No, she has a cameo in this movie. No, actually"¦ it's bigger than a cameo. She comes in and does something.

Bigger than a cameo but not as much screen time as Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill's character - that's fair to be honest. After all, the movie's title is BATMAN V SUPERMAN: Dawn of Justice not DC'S TRINITY: Dawn of Justice!

The "˜She with you' Joke - Makes Sense in the Context of the Movie!

Batman V Superman trailer 2 dialogue

Confused Superman and Batman!

In the second trailer of Batman V Superman we got to watch a humorous scene where Superman asks Batman about Wonder Woman, "˜She with you?' And the Caped Crusader replied, "˜I thought she was with you!' Well, that's something VERY RARE in a DC movie. And honestly, that was more surprising to me than revealing Doomsday! The interviewer asked Zack Snyder how that came about. And he responded in the following way:

"You have to see the movie, because it gears into the drama of what's happening, and if you see it in the context of the film, it completely makes sense that the two of them were trying to figure out who she is"¦

And when asked about the dynamics of the Trinity in the movie, the director stated:

"Well, they're forced together, which you get a sense of from the trailer. They're forced to work together.
