This is going to be one of the best weeks ever - we're not just going to get new Civil War footage, but also a first trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story! And, if you have been living under a rock in the past year (to say the least), then you might be wondering why we are so excited.

While The Force Awakens breathed new life into a franchise which seemed doomed by its own creator, we are looking forward for Rogue One simply because we get to see new heroes battling the evil empire from a galaxy far, far away. The plot of the movie revolves around a team of mercenaries who are sent to steal the plans for the first Death Star, the film taking place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

And while it may seem that it doesn't have too much to offer, we beg to differ - seeing that The Force Awakens was (at times) just a rehash of A New Hope, Rogue one promises to bring a bit of much needed originality into the Star Wars universe.

Thus, today has debuted a first teaser trailer for Rogue One. And, pretty much like any other teaser, the clip doesn't offer any insight as to what we might see in the actual movie. Nonetheless, with this teaser comes the confirmation that we will see the first trailer much sooner than expected.

If until now we only hoped for a first preview during the Comic Con, today's teaser has announced that the first Rogue One trailer will arrive tomorrow! So count us in already - just the sound of the of the TIE fighters gets us pumped up!

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released on the 16^th of December!
