X-Men: Apocalypse comes to theaters May 27th, 2016. Preceded by Deadpool (February 12th, 2016) and followed by Gambit (October 7th, 2016), Apocalypse is likely the tent pole movie of the X-Men franchise in the year to come.

X-Men: Apocalypse is helmed by Bryan Singer. And while little is known about Singer's production - well, except the release date and most of the cast and crew - the director himself has graced us with an unexpected peak at what seems to be some awesome concept art.

Whether the upcoming sequel pools from the dense comic book mythology of Apocalypse, that remains to be seen. But if so, expect En Sabah Nur to come off as a prime supervillain. In fact, chances are he's going to be portrayed as the very first mutant in existence.

Because, indeed, En Sabah Nur translates either as The First One or as The Morning Light, as various sources indicate. It makes sense: if he was the alpha, he could just as well play the omega figure.

However, take a look at Singer's post on Instagram.

The spaceship is, most likely, the one that will become the den of Apocalypse. Its alien provenance hints at how Apocalypse got to be the all-powerful mutant that now menaces the balance of the world.

Is that Wolverine?

Is that Wolverine?

While the spaceship points at En Sabah Nur's rise as a mutant, we can't help but wonder: is that Wolverine so hazily portrayed at the base of the ship? The character surely has the stance, but what business does he have to visit Apocalypse's ship?

Now, on that note, what do you think about Singer's release? Keep in mind he promises to "continue to snap more". Stay tuned, we'll make sure to bring you the hottest scoop on X-Men: Apocalypse.
