Before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released, a lot of fans complained that they already knew what was happening in the movie because Warner Bros. gave away too much in the trailers. Then, after March 25, the complaint was that they couldn't grasp certain aspects of the movie! More and more people have come to understand the events of the Zack Snyder flick after watching its R-rated Ultimate Edition.
But with Suicide Squad, the scenario is very different. It's managed to keep a lot of its secrets intact. We don't know who the main villain is, and we don't know a quite a number of other things, as well.
One of those frequently-talked-about mysteries is Scott Eastwood’s role. We’ve heard so many different rumors about the various characters he might play, that it’s actually difficult to remember them all!

Someone came up with the rumor that Eastwood is portraying Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing, in Suicide Squad. Batman sends him undercover to keep watch on the Task Force X members.
Someone else turned up, saying that he is playing Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke. Then, there was yet another person who said that he is Thomas Andrew Tresser, aka Nemesis. Haven't there been even more rumored roles for Scott Eastwood? I can't specifically remember them at this point!
Now, we actually have a new rumor about the actor's role in Suicide Squad! And, like all of the other rumors, take this one with a grain of salt.
The German site Cinemaxx (via Comic Book Movie) claims that the name of Eastwood's character in the David Ayer flick is Lieutenant "GQ" Edwards. As far as I know (or as far as Google knows), there's no DC Comics character by that name. That means that if the rumor stands, he is most likely an original character.

The site also asserts that they know what character Ike Barinholtz is portraying in Suicide Squad. According to them, he will play a character named Captain Griggs, who is not an original character, in the August 5 release.
In the Wonder Woman comics, there's a character named Keith Griggs, who is a U.S. Air Force officer. He has worked under General Darnell and alongside Diana Prince, Steve Trevor, and Etta Candy. The character first appeared in the 1983 issue Wonder Woman #301.
