New Names Up For X-Men: Apocalypse

The third installment of X-Men trilogy that started with X-Men: First Class and followed by X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, is scheduled for a 27 May, 2016 release. The filming is about to start in this April and we have a number of major role casts confirmed including James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse and Nicholas Hoult as Beast.

We already know that there's going to be younger versions of Cyclops, Phoenix and Storm replacing James Marsden, Famke Janssen and Halle Berry respectively. Last November, we got three shortlisted names for each of the characters Cyclops and Phoenix. A month later, we heard that Kat Graham is up for the Storm role. Now, according to a latest "˜Latino Review' report, some names within these shortlists have been removed while some other names have been added as the contenders. Let's check out how the lists stand now!

Contenders For The Role Of Cyclops

According to the report, the shortlist of names in consideration for the role of Scott Summers, aka Cyclops, in Bryan Singer's upcoming venture doesn't exist as a shortlist anymore! While three of the previously rumored contenders are still alive in the list, three new actors have made it to the list making its length double.

Interstellar star Timothee Chalamet, EastEnders star Ben Hardy and Red Band Society star Charlie Rowe have now in the list with them Mud star Tye Sheridan, Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron Edgarton and If I Stay star Jamie Blackley. According to The Wrap's Jeff Sneider, Tye Sheridan is ahead of others in the race for the role of Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse.

According to Snieder, the previously rumored name for the role of Jean Grey, If I Stay star Chloe Grace Moretz, is no longer in the list due to schedule issues. The other two contenders, Maleficent star Elle Fanning and True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld, are still there in the race.

For the X-Men: Apocalypse role, new names that get added to the list are Games of Thrones star Sophie Turner and Atonement star Saoirse Ronan. In total, we now have four beauties under consideration for playing the younger Phoenix.

Contenders For The Role Of Storm

December's rumored cast Kat Graham is surprisingly out of the January list for playing the younger version of Halle Berry's Storm. The Vampire Dairies star has been replaced by two new names for the role.

According to the report, the contenders for the role of Ororo Munroe, aka Storm, are Zendaya Coleman and Alexandra Shipp. While the first contender is best known for her role in KC Undercover, the other one featured in the recent biopic by Lifetime, Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B.

Now, we need to wait and see if there are some new versions of the list coming in recent future or we hear a name announced from each of the three lists. Which stars among these are your choices for the roles? Speak up, guys!
