Marvel Has Complete Confidence in Thor: Ragnarok

Barring the first Avengers movie and Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok might be the most important MCU movie to date. It will end the last solo franchise that, along with Captain America and Iron Man, opened the shared cinematic universe, and it will set up the Infinity War like no other movie has. As teased, Asgard will fall, and Earth’s heroes will stand on their own against the Mad Titan.

All speculation aside, Thor:Ragnarok looks to be the most fun and vibrant movie in the MCU, except for the galactic adventure that is Guardians of the Galaxy. Disney and Marvel are well aware that they have a big hit on their hands.

This may be due to - or in spite of - Taika Waititi’s directorial style, which included giving the actors free rein to improvise throughout the movie. The studios apparently have complete confidence in the final product, and they've just announced that they'll hold press junkets this week, and lift the review embargo a week later, on October 19.

So we'll see the critics' reactions to Thor: Ragnarok two weeks before the movie’s even in theaters! The studios actually set similar schedules for The Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and both films broke cinematic barriers. To be noted, the Captain America: Civil War review embargo was lifted three weeks prior to the movie’s US debut.

We expect that Thor: Ragnarok will be both a critical and a commercial success, but we’ll know what the critics think in just ten days!
