Martin Freeman Confirmed For Civil War

Martin Freeman in Civil War

Martin Freeman is best known for his acting feats in Peter Jackson's trilogy The Hobbit (Bilbo Baggins) and in Sherlock (Dr. Watson).

He's a versatile actor who has just got on Marvel's radar. Fans of The Hobbit who also have a penchant for comic book movies will surely be glad to learn Kevin Feige's latest announcement.

In brief, Martin Freeman has just been locked in for Captain America: Civil War. Feige's message - which you can find on Marvel's website - sounds like this:

"From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in ‘The Office,’ Martin’s range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us ["¦] We couldn’t be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe".

But what part will he play? See the latest theory coming from Latino Review!

Martin Freeman will play an interrogator

Feige's announcement came with an unspoken yet understandable "undisclosed role" phrase in tail. That didn't prevent people to speculate.

Sure, Latino Review presents all this by title of report, so chances are this is more than speculation. It could be solid leaked information.

However, take it with a pinch of salt.

Martin Freeman will reportedly portray a certain "Everett Ross, a US Government agent assigned to Wakanda who grows to become sort of a Wakandan expert. Interrogator doesn't necessarily mean torturer and Martin Freeman's acting style is more Clark Gregg than Christian Bale".

His knowledge of all things Wakandan sets Martin Freeman's character's way to Black Panther. If this rumor sticks, we can at least draw two consequences.

First of all, Martin Freeman's character will be neither a hero nor a villain. I guess his role will be similar - at least vaguely - to Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson.

Then, Martin Freeman will be the second actor rumored for Black Panther, only after Andy Serkis, the intro of whom you’ve just got to see in Age of Ultron.

Is that good news? Are you glad to see Martin Freeman joining the cast of Captain America: Civil War? I surely know I am! Have your say below! And stay tuned, we'll bring you the hottest scoop on all things Marvel!
