Casting rumors surrounding the Deadpool sequel have included the possibility of Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire, The Martian) playing Domino in the film. Fans have been reacting very positively to the idea, but Davis recently told GQ that there’s nothing concrete to get excited about.
When asked about the rumors, Davis replied:
No! It’s very interesting. People keep sending me printouts being like, “This is so cool!” And I'm like, “Right? I also think it's cool! But it's not true!” I mean, I'd love to keep the ruse going. It's sort of cool that people think I'm doing Deadpool. But no! I don't have any news to share. I wish I did!
This is definitely disappointing for fans of Davis’s work, but since there’s no release date set for the Deadpool sequel, there may still be time for Davis to be cast as Domino. It certainly sounds like she’d be willing to join the project. Kyle Chandler is also rumored to be potentially appearing in the sequel as Cable, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
