Logan: Boyd Holbrook Confirmed as Pierce

With the first trailer waiting to drop, Logan may be Fox's most secretive project until now. While Hugh Jackman did say that Old Man Logan would be a source of inspiration for the final Wolverine flick, we know literally nothing about the plot of the movie.

Today a new piece of information was revealed via the Instagram account wponx - this is the same account that revealed how weary Professor X is and teased the R-rating of Logan. Today's pic features Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl, Milk, Narcos) with a simple caption that might have revealed the identity of his character.

Check it out below:

Is this Pierce the Donald Pierce from the comic books? Most likely. This can be easily connected with what we already knew, that in Logan Wolverine will face the Reavers, who are actually led by Pierce in the comics. This could also be connected in a way with Mister Sinister, since the Reavers are humans transformed into cyborgs via various bionic implants.

As far as Donald Pierce is concerned, he is almost completely transformed. Besides his head, his entire body is artificial.

This could also tie in with X-Men: Apocalypse, especially since Mister Sinister is himself a creation of Apocalypse. But it could also mark the introduction of the techno-organic virus that plagues Cable and that was developed by Apocalypse.

This is just speculation, though.

To be noted, the confirmation of Donald Pierce in Logan could also mean the appearance of Lady Deathstrike, with whom the villain was infatuated in the comics. Lady Deathstrike previously appeared in X2, portrayed by Kelly Hu. However, that version was just a mutant with the same abilities as Wolverine.
